All electronic components and assemblies are somewhat temperature sensitive. Precision circuits require temperature compensation to maintain precision over a range of temperatures. Certain analog circuits, microwave components, oscillators and microwave amplifiers need temperature compensation. Positive temperature coefficients thermistors PTC are used for active and passive temperature compensation. PTC thermistors are also used when absolute value of the ambient temperature needs to be known. In this case it is more practical and less expensive to calibrate the PTC against an absolute temperature reference. These devices can be used over the temperature range of -50°C to +200°C. Higher temperature ratings are available by special order. Devices are 100% tested, visual inspected and packaged in waffle packs, film frame or 6”/8” plastic or flat/metal rings.
